Greetings! I hope you all are doing well! My first month of residency was Obstetrics/L&D! I worked with a great team of Ob residents and assisted with deliveries and postpartum patients. Night float was definitely a learning experience, I discovered that 3AM means a lot of sweet snacks and coffee!
Currently, I am working inpatient (on the hospital floor). The day starts at 5:50am, sign out/reviewing labs/seeing patients/typing notes/putting in orders; we usually finish up by going over the list around 5:30pm. It has been a joy teaching medical school students while taking care of my patients, before you know it the day is over. I'm still trying to figure out how in the world I'm going to continue with my gym routine and work! So far, residency has been better than ever expected. I am so grateful that after work sometimes I have the opportunity to run upstairs and spend time with my sister and niece (last night was pizza night!).
~Wishing you all a lovely upcoming month of August~
