Be Still

2020!!! What a year! By His grace we have made it through and I am amazed at the resilience, fortitude, and determination of the American people. This year truly was a testament of strength found in unity. For me, this was a year of personal growth and academic victory. Earlier in the year my grandmother passed, there have been so many moments when I was reminded of her love, humor, and wise sayings; she is truly missed.

This year I submitted my application for residency!! Only by His grace, I have secured enough interviews to feel confident going into Match week. I feel beyond grateful and I'm so eager to start!! There are certain periods in my life, when I feel the need to pause and reflect. Sometimes, we can get so caught up in our own wishes, desires, and wants that we cannot hear the quiet and still whisper of the Lord. It's in those moments, I know to Selah. I have decided to limit blogging and social media until after my rank list has been submitted. I know His will is the best and I would like to take the next few weeks to humble myself before Him and seek His direction for my life. It's also a great time for introspection and rejuvenation. I've started planning upcoming trips/events for 2021 and can't wait to share them with you all! Until then, I wish you a Happy New Year!!!

November Happiness

Greetings!!

I hope you all have had a wonderful month of November! Below highlights a few happy moments in my month. As the year comes to a close, I wish you all much peace, love, and joy!

~Whitney Wills

It's that time of year...jazz Christmas music, gingerbread cookies, and cozy winter socks, what more could you ask for!

My first time running at Noland Trail, this trail has almost 15 bridges and various inclines.  It has definitely become one of my favorite places to run weekend mornings

Spending a lovely weekend at Norfolk Botanical Garden with family

Enjoying the pretty fall colors during a run; I always see a few deer along the way!

Quiet moments of reflection, so much to be thankful/grateful for

Trying lox for the first time at Indulge Bakery and Bistro

It was nice donating canned goods and volunteering at the Salvation Army food pantry. Helping others that need it the most always makes me very happy

I spent a peaceful Thanksgiving day with my family; we had fun making

Working on a new cross stitching project, hopefully it will be complete by the new year!

Last year I discovered the word hygge and realized that it was something I have always incorporated into my life and benefited from. Remember to carve out time each day for self-care. It is okay to unplug and recharge. We cannot pour into the lives of others if our glasses are empty; fill yourself up each day with love and joy by mindfully slowing down and doing activities that you thoroughly enjoy. You deserve it!

Happy 30th Birthday to someone who has brought me nothing but true happiness over the past 30 years! I could write a book about our childhood and college memories, but ultimately I am so grateful that God blessed me with such a selfless, loving, and compassionate sister!! I am looking forward to the next 30 years with you and I can't wait to officially celebrate with you next year once these COVID travel restrictions are lifted! I love you Mimi!

November: National Family Caregivers Month

Thank you to all the people who selflessly give of themselves to take

care of loved ones; you are appreciated

With winter quickly approaching, it is that time of the year where giving back means so much to those who need it the most. Wherever you are located, please consider volunteering this year through the Salvation Army or by donating canned goods to your local food pantry. Every little bit helps!

May Happiness

April showers bring May flowers (and butterflies)!

During my morning run I saw baby geese!! I was all smiles....however, I kept a safe distance...didn't want to make mama geese mad!

Study break with tea time and art with my sister and niece, I love our chats and moments of endless laughter!

I spent a lovely Mother's Day weekend with my parents, my Mom really liked her cross stitch gift! I then spent the evening with my sister. Normally, my niece shy's away from the camera but for the first time ever she wanted to be a part of the picture and quickly ran to us! My heart melted!!! #lovethemsomuch

kolache + iced vanilla caramel latte with coffee ice cubes = pure happiness....
needless to say it was gone before I made it back home! NOM NOM!!

Memorial Day weekend; quick visit to my best friend from high school,
her mom was gracious enough to make my mom and me protective masks

Due to COVID-19, the AAFP national conference will be held virtually, link provided below:
Summer is almost here! I'm excited to start preparing my residency application; I would also like to cherish every moment with loved ones during this time off. I have decided to take a break from the blog, I'll begin posting again in October.
Have a wonderful summer, sending positive sunny vibes your way!!!
