Small Weekend Victory!

My favorite and best place to study is still a cubicle, just
minus the 2 Monster energy drinks and 3 cups of coffee per day!

Ingredients:
Blueberries
Bananas
Greek yogurt
1 cup milk
3-4 Ice cubes

Very easy and quick breakfast for those busy mornings! Blend ingredients well and enjoy! Feel free to get creative and add flax seeds, chia seeds, almonds, or more fruit/veggies!

I was very happy today, I finally reached 4 miles! Normally, once I hit 3 miles I feel like stopping, but I pushed myself and I didn’t feel tired! Hopefully, I’ll be able to reach 4 miles again during my next workout!

I hope you all have a wonderful and productive upcoming week! It’s been super chilly here, stay warm!!

Pray It Forward

Most of my friends would describe me as beyond bubbly, always cheery, and positively positive. During my med school ball I was awarded the superlative “most likely person to make you smile”. However, like everyone I have faced personal hardship and stormy seasons. My outlook on life during those periods has helped me to overcome tough obstacles. Through every test or trial I hold fast to His unchanging hand, say a prayer, then press forward knowing that with Him on my side everything will be alright. If you’re going through a season of uncertainty or transition, keep your eyes fixated on him, pray without ceasing, and cast all your cares on Him knowing that he will take care of you! Remember, test and trials only come to make you stronger, wiser, better. You may not feel instantaneous change but remain steadfast and keep the faith, He will see you through!!

The Best Things

The best things in life aren’t things. It’s not the number of degrees perfectly hanging up on your wall, it’s not the luxury car emblem embossed on your car, it’s not the picket white fence with the manicured green grass that is in front of your brick chimney mansion, it’s not the annual fancy gala balls, or the price tag on your fine tailored clothes and leather totes. The best things in life can’t be purchased. It’s leaving work at the end of the day feeling fulfilled, knowing that you gave your all to touch someone’s life, it’s seeing the smile on a homeless persons face because you decided to help instead of judge, it’s coming home to a house full of love and spending quality time with those that mean the most to you, it’s going to sleep each night with peace in your heart and waking up with joy in your soul. The best things cannot be taken away. It is something internal and ultimately found in Christ alone. Many search but may never find the intangible thing that brings true comfort, love, joy, and peace. Always look upward and lean on His everlasting promises. Have a lovely week.

Don’t Ever Give Up

Cozy weekend indoors with board exam prep and quality time with granny
in between breaks

Only way to start each day. Be still and know that He alone is God,
able to do more than we could ever expect or imagine.

Choose Happy!

Hello you all! I hope your new year is off to an amazing start! I came across this photo and couldn’t help but smile! Happiness is an inside job, each day you get to decide your outlook on life. In medical school everyone is working hard to secure a residency spot, you want to be on your A-game and impress your Attendings and residents during your rotations at all times, you want to receive glowing letters of recommendation, you want to pass each rotation with honors. However, it is important to stop every now and then and be proud of how far you’ve come. Just pause and simply be happy. You may not be number one in your class but over the years I’ve learned the importance of gratitude. I’m grateful to be in medical school, to have the opportunity to sit down and study what I enjoy. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve mankind through healing. What are you happy about today?

All smiles! It feels so good to be back in Atlanta!!
Have a lovely upcoming week!!!

Peaceful evening of review before bed
