Heart So Full

My entire heart in one picture

~Had fun at Arlington County Fair~
It definitely brought back a lot of great childhood memories

The next morning I visited my aunt in Baltimore area, I really enjoyed attending her church service. She then surprised me with an early birthday lunch! On my way back, I stopped off in my hometown to spend the evening with my parents, they always fill my heart with so much joy

Step 3 set for December

Intern of the Year

"If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all of the hosts of heaven and earth will pause and say, 'Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.' "

- Martin Luther King Jr

Surprised is an understatement! I feel truly honored to be named intern of the year; especially when I feel that every intern is deserving of the award. Thank you to the EVMS attendings who passionately devote their time and efforts daily to helping us better understand the complexities of medical management. Thank you to my EVMS co-residents who pushed me beyond my comfort level and inspired me daily to be the best resident I could be. A big thank you to my family, last year when ranking programs, I took into consideration my family; being close to them in proximity made all the difference this past year. I wish my granny was here to share in this moment, but I know she is proud.

Most importantly, I give all credit, glory, and honor to my personal savior Jesus Christ. My passion for medicine is so much bigger than myself. Each day, I strive to be of service to my patients. I always try to remind myself, "if this was my family member, how would I want them to be treated". No matter your profession, big or small, we can all strive to make a positive difference in the lives of others, that will continue to be my aim.
