The Wills Kids

So what keeps me going?

I have 3 very special people in my life; my sister and my 2 brothers. They mean the world to me. Currently, we all live in the same city which has been pretty fascinating. My parents are very family oriented so growing up all we had was each other. During the hot summer months and the bitter winter days we would play for hours outdoors; building forts, sledding, basketball, 4-wheeler....you name it! As the years passed the closer we became. My sister is my best friend, my brothers are always a call/visit away. These 3 people have seen my determination towards medical school. They have never talked down on my dream, they always push me to be the very best I can be. I love them dearly. Have a wonderful weekend

Home Sweet Home

This week went by really fast! I enjoyed my time in New York. Within 3 days I was able to visit Manhattan, see most of my family, and of course enjoy my Oma's delicious homemade cooking! The moment I returned back to Virginia I went to attend my other grandmothers Christmas Program, where she sang Christmas Carols! Tomorrow I will attend my church Christmas play, it should be amazing! Below are a couple of pictures of my trip, enjoy!

1-Week Vacation

Currently, I work full time at CVS as a Pharmacy Technician. I love what I do. I enjoy educating the public about prior authorizations, faxing doctor offices for prescriptions refills, and working with a really great team of people. Since I have been there for a year I get one week off! I am so excited, finally I don't have to push the alarm button at 6am or worry about packing a lunch!

Today I went to shadow Dr. Ralph Northam, a pediatric neurologist, at CHKD. It was such a wonderful day! First he would let me look over the patients chart then we would go into the patient room. I learned so much today about seizures, Klippel-Feil syndrome, orthostatic hypotension, Chiari, and brachial plexus injury.

Tomorrow I am waking up really early to enjoy the rest of the week in New York! I have not seen my Oma and my extended family in months. I am looking forward to catching up on much needed rest and relaxation!

Seeing Life From a Different Lens

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

-Robert Frost

Growing up my sister and I would sing at various churches. One of our favorite songs was entitled, Can't Give up Now, by Mary Mary. 7 years ago I was a senior in high school and I decided to go into Medicine. 7 years later this song holds so much importance in my life. I have applied to Medical school 3 times, I have been denied twice. Recently I was awarded an interview by one school and an invite to fill out a secondary application for another school. I know that I can't give up now, I am so close to fulfilling my dream. This blog is intended to inspire others. I have so much to share with you. Don't ever settle for mediocrity in life. If you have a dream or vision, no matter your age, race, or obstacles set against you....go for it. With God all things are possible. This is my road less traveled.
